Doncs avui ha fet 8 mesos que vaig arribar a Taiwan! Com passa el temps!

• RSS

Al costat de les banderes hem afegit un link al RSS del blog. Us hi podeu subscriure i rebreu les novetats al blog automàticament.

• Foto aleatoria

A la part de dalt de la barra dreta de la plana hem afegit una foto aleatoria de Taiwan. Cada cop que visiteu el blog n’hi ha una de diferent i podeu fer-hi click si la voleu veure més gran.

• Plana especial amb fotos

Per acabar, a la part de dalt hem afegit una plana que es diu «Fotos» on trobareu links a tots els àlbums del Picassa que hem anar publicant al blog.

Ja fa unes setmanes que hem entrat en la temporada de tifons a Taiwan. Per ara hem tingut sort i no n’hi hagut cap durant tot el mes de Juliol. Hem pogut llegir a la premsa local que no és gaire normal no tenir-ne cap ni un (els últims cops que això havia passat va ser al 2007 i al 1999)
Al cap de setmana va fer just un any del tifó Morakot que va deixar més de 700 morts al sud de Taiwan, sobretot entre la comunitat indigena. S’han fet diversos actes de conmemoració en record de les victimes.
La millor manera d’estar informats sobre els tifons es visitar la plana del Central Weather Bureau dedica al seguiment de tempestes i tifons

L’altre dia tot visitant la llibreria Eslite vam topar-nos amb la revista Monocle. En aquest número està dedicada a fer una enquesta sobre la qualitat de vida a diverses ciutats del món. Taipei no està a la llista de les millors (Barcelona està al número 17) però si que li dediquen un petit reportage com a ciutat poc coneguda i infravalorada.

We entered the thypoons season few weeks ago. So far we’ve been lucky and Taiwan has not been affected by any typhoon during July. This is quite unsual as reported by local newspapers
It is just about one year ago that Morakot typhoon hit the south of Taiwan leaving more than 700 people dead. A number of memorial services were held during the past weekend
The best way to be informed about typhoons is to keep an eye to Central Weather Bureau typhoons page

On a recent visit to Eslite bookstore we found that Monocle magazine last issue was focused on the best cities around the world (Barcelona is #17). Taipei did not make to the Top 25 list but it was mentioned in a special article about underestimated and largely unknown cities
