Taiwan Zai Jian! … i ManManTaiwan Zai Jian! … and ManMan

Zài jiàn en xinès vol dir «adéu» o «fins aviat». És hora de marxar de Taiwan i ho tenim tot apunt pel proper 5 d’Octubre. Si voleu tenir tots els detalls haureu de llegir fins al final :)

Com sempre es diu, el temps vola i es fa estrany mirar les fotos de finals del 2009 quan vam marxar de Barcelona. Hauran estat 664 dies per l’Albert i 644 dies per l’Anna… 1 any i quasi 10 mesos a Taiwan.

En aquest blog (aquest és el post 99) hem mirat d’explicar les nostres vivències a Taiwan, amb els escrits i sobretot amb les fotos, moltes fotos. Aquí sota en teniu una selecció i sempre podeu anar a la pàgina de fotos si les voleu veure totes.

Si haguéssim de resumir la nostra experiència a Taiwan, necessiteríem bastanta estona… però de manera breu podríem dir que Taiwan és:

«Hao re, hao chi, hao ke ai!»… o «Quina calor! Què bo! Què maco!». Aquestes són les tres expressions més habituals entre els Taiwanesos i de fet resumeix força acuradament el país:
– Pot fer molta calor a l’estiu i amb la humitat es fa força insuportable. No hi ha altre manera d’escapar que anar als llocs amb aire acondicionat.
– Sembla que els taiwanesos estiguin sempre menjant (i de fet és veritat! ;)), però no és estrany amb la quantitat de restaurants i mercats de nit que hi ha per tot Taiwan, i la varietat de coses per tastar… començant pel famós tofu pudent!
– Finalment, tot i que Taiwan no és un lloc on la gent ve a passar les vacances, la veritat és que ofereix moltes experiències i paratges naturals de gran bellesa. Animeu-vos! :)

Apart de tot això, evidentment, el més important és la gent que hem conegut: taiwanesos, estrangers i barreges diverses…. no hauria estat el mateix sense tots ells. I també tots vosaltres que ens heu seguit al blog, compartint les nostres experiències i deixant algun comentari :) xiè xiè nimen!

Ja estem en mode compte enrere, a més a més de tota la paperassa per enviar les coses a Barcelona, tancar el compte el banc, etc…. ens estem trobant amb els amics per dir-nos «fins aviat» (i menjar alguna cosa és clar!). També farem una festa de comiat l’1 d’octubre (i afegirem les fotos de la festa a l’àlbum d’aquí sota! :) … les he posat al nou blog directament)

Time flies and it is amazing to look back at the end of 2009 when we left Barcelona. It will have been 664 days for Albert and 644 days for Anna… 1 year and almost 10 months in Taiwan.

In this blog (this is post #99) we’ve tried to portrait our experience of living in Taiwan, with text and also with lots of pictures. Here below you’ve a selection of the best from Taiwan and you can always visit the photos page to see all of them

If we had to explain now our experience in Taiwan that would take too long, so probably we could define it in short by saying:

«Hao re, hao chi, hao ke ai!»… or «So hot, so tasty and so cute». These are the three expressions we have heard the most from Taiwanese. Actually that allows to define this country in three words.
– It can be extremely hot in summer and it gets worst with the high humidity. No way to escape other than to go to places with air conditioning.
– One can have the impression that Taiwanese are eating all the time (indeed it’s true ;)). It is understandable with all variety of restaurants and night markets all around the country, with so many choices and tastes for everybody… what can we say about the famous stinky tofu!!
– And finally, even if it is not a place you think about going on holidays, Taiwan has many wonderful places to discover with beautiful landscapes.

Besides all this, of course, the thing we like the most is the people we met during this period. Taiwanese, foreigners and half Taiwanese half foreigners… That would not have been the same without you all. And of course, you, all who have followed us through this blog, shared our experience and left comments :) xiè xie nimen!

We are already in countdown mode, apart from all the paperwork and logistics to ship stuff back to Barcelona, we are meeting friends in Taipei to say «see you later» (and to eat of course!) and we will host a farewell party on October 1st (so we will add more pictures to the album below after the party! :))
