Durant el procés d’aterratge a Taiwan, hem rebut molta ajuda per part d’un company de feina a ADB, l’Stan. Per agraïr-li tot l’esforç vam decidir convidar-los (al Stan i la seva dona Janet) a sopar a un dels restaurants espanyols a Taipei: «El Patio de mi Casa» (el blog, en xinès)

En tot Taiwan només hi ha tres restaurants amb cuiners espanyols: «Hola» a Kaohsiung i «El Toro» i «El Patio de mi Casa» a Taipei. «El Patio de mi Casa» sembla ser l’únic restaurant espanyol amb tapes. Està regentat pel Luis i el Ramses. El restaurant està «obert» des del 2007 (però era una cuina privada), pero des de finals de 2009 s’han mogut a un local a la part nord de la ciutat.

Com no podia ser d’altre manera, les patates braves (molt bones per cert) van ser la tapa estrella de la nit :)

També vam voler regalar a la parella de recent casats (vam anar al casament! ja farem un post quan tinguem fotos bones) un llibre en xinès d’un ilustrador koreà que va viure un temps a Barcelona. La troballa del llibre va ser casual i el regal els va fer molta gràcia.

Per acabar la vetllada, els propietaris (que també són músics) es van arrancar a tocar la guitarra i la caixa. Per cert, el paio de la dreta de la foto esta bufant l’ampolla per fer música també.

Suposo que hi tornarem en algun altre moment ja que l’experiència va ser molt positiva i ens vam quedar amb les ganes de provar diversos plats.

Bon profit!During the landing process at Taiwan, a lot of help has been provided by Stan, a colleague at ADB. To thank him for all the efforts we decided to invite them (Stan and her wife Janet) to have dinner in one of the Spanish restaurants in Taipei: «El Patio de mi Casa» (blog in Chinese)

In the whole Taiwan island there are only 3 restaurants with Spanish chefs: «Hola» at Kaohsiung and «El Toro» and «El Patio de mi Casa» at Taipei. «El Patio de mi Casa» seems to be the only one with «tapas» menu. Luis and Ramses own and run the restaurant. The restaurant opened back on 2007 as a private kitchen, but since late 2009 they moved the restaurant to a new location in the centre/north area of Taipei city.

As you could expect, patatas bravas (yummy!) was the favorite tapa of the night!

We also wanted to give to the just married couple (indeed, we went to the wedding! a post will be prepared when we get some good photos from the ceremory and party), a book in Chinese from a Korean illustrator who lived for a while at Barcelona. We found the book by chance few weeks ago and they loved it.

In order to complete the Spanish night, the owners (that are also musicians) decided to play the Spanish guitar and «la caja» (the box). By the way, the guy on the right side is blowing the bottle to make some sound too.

I guess we will return to the restaurant sooner or later as the experience was very positive and we still left a number of dishes to try.
