Acabem d’arribar d’un cap de setmana de 4 dies a Anilao. (Filipines).

El dilluns 6 de juny a Taiwan se celebrava el Dragon Boat (per tant, dia festiu) i vam poder fer un cap de setmana llarg. Ens vam apuntar a un viatge organizat per l’escola de submarinisme on em vaig treure el carnet de PADI Open Water. Érem un grup petit de 5 persones (nosaltres inclosos) i la Katia (la guia del grup i monitora de submarinisme).

De camí cap a l’hotel (unes 3 hores en cotxe des de l’aeroport de Manila) vam disfutar veient els diferents i curiosos mitjans de transport públic de Filipines, amb els omnipresents «jeepneys» i els tricicles.

I finalment vam arribar al Aquaventure reef club… un lloc molt autèntic. Mireu la foto de 360º! (necessitaràs instal·lar Silverlight al teu ordinador si encara no el tens).

Com que era el 3 de juny tocava cantar Maligayang Kaarawan Albert! (o Feliç Aniversari Albert!) amb pastís sorpresa i tot!

La principal activitat del viatge era fer submarinisme i la veritat és que vam quedar impressionats amb l’experiència. En total, vam fer 6 immersions entre divendres, dissabte i diumenge. Tot i que no ho sembli, vam acabar destroçats. Els nostres companys taiwanesos anaven ben equipats amb càmeres i llums. Ells van disfrutar especialment amb les petites criatures que nosaltres quasi ni vèiem amb els nostres ulls d’inexperts. Disfruteu de les fotografies i a veure si trobeu el Pulpito sota l’aigua! :)

I mentre no estàvem sota l’aigua, estàvem menjant, bebent cervesa, llegint i fent fotos de les postes de sol.

Durant els quatre dies vam estar quasi aïllats i no vam poder descobrir gaire el país i la seva gent (vam veure més peixos que filipins!). Però el contacte que vam tenir amb la gent local que treballava a la zona va ser molt positiu. Ens hem quedat amb ganes de conèixer més aquest país i la seva cultura que, a primer cop d’ull, sembla com si fossin els llatins d’Àsia :)

We are just back from a 4-days weekend at Anilao (Philippines).

Dragon Boat (day off in Taiwan) was on June 6th (Monday) so it was easy to get an extended weekend. We joined a trip organized by the diving school where I got my PADI Open Water license. It was a small group 5 people (including us) and Katia (the guide and dive master).

On the way to the resort (~3 hours drive from Manila airport) we enjoyed the interesting and diverse methods of public transportation in Philippines, with the omni-presents jeepneys and tricycles.

And we arrived at Aquaventure reef club… a nice place. Check the 360º view! (you will need to install Silverlight if you don’t have already in your computer)

It happened to be June 3rd! so it was time Maligayang Kaarawan Albert! (or happy birthday Albert!) with a surprise cake!

The main purpose of the trip was to dive and we were really impressed with the experience. We did a total of 6 dives between Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Our Taiwanese mates were fully equipped with cameras and lights. They specially enjoyed to find little creatures that we could not even see with our inexpert eyes. Enjoy the pictures and look for Pulpito underwater! :)

While not diving the main activities were eating, drinking beer, reading and taking pictures of nice sunsets.

We were almost isolated during this 4 days and we couldn’t know many things about this country and its people (we saw more fishes than people!). But the contact we got with the local people working in that area was very positive. We really hope to know more about this country and culture that, at first glance, looks like the Latinos from Asia :)
