Fa un parell de setmanes vam fer la primera escapada de \u00abTaipei City\u00bb. Voliem fer un primer tast dels \u00abhot springs<\/a>\u00bb (aig\u00fces termals) i ens vam acostar fins a Wulai<\/a> ja que era de f\u00e0cil acc\u00e9s amb transport p\u00fablic.<\/p>\n

El departament de turisme edita uns fulletons per les diverses destinacions tur\u00edstiques aprop de Taipei. Aqu\u00ed teniu el fullet\u00f3 de Wulai en angl\u00e8s<\/a>, for\u00e7a \u00fatil per organitzar l’excursi\u00f3.<\/p>\n

Wulai, apart dels hot springs, \u00e9s conegut per ser el lloc original de la tribu Atayai, per les excursions a peu i pels restaurants de la zona. \u00c9s un lloc for\u00e7a tur\u00edstic, cosa que vol dir autobusos lletjos i carrers comercials.<\/p>\n

Abans de posar-nos a l’aigua vam fer un snack, una saltitxa… que vam descobrir que era dol\u00e7a!<\/p>\n

Per fer baixar la saltxitxa, res millor que una caminadeta per tota la zona (haurem de tornar per fer-hi excursions).<\/p>\n

La majoria dels turistes opten per anar als \u00abhot springs\u00bb dins dels hotels (hi ha una banyera a cada habitaci\u00f3), per\u00f2 nosaltres vam decidir seguir a uns iaios fins a una zona de banys gratuits al costat del riu Nanshi.<\/p>\n

L’aigua dels banys (a 80\u00baC) a Wulai \u00e9s incolora, sense olor (en altres zones fa una mica de pudor) i amb efectes\u00a0 rejuvenidors per a la pell.<\/p>\n

\"CIMG2608\"Una noia parlava angl\u00e8s i ens va explicar els passos a seguir. El millor era entrar al riu (ben fresquet) i despr\u00e9s posar-se al hot spring a 80\u00baC<\/center><\/p>\n

No cal dir que nosaltres tamb\u00e9 vam ser una mica l’atracci\u00f3 d’aquell dia per aquesta gent que acostuma a anar-hi tot sovint.Two weekends ago we organized our first excursion out of \u00abTaipei City\u00bb. We wanted to experience the \u00abhot springs<\/a>\u00bb and we decided to go to Wulai<\/a> as it is east to reach using public transport.<\/p>\n

The Tourism Bureau of Taiwan prepares some compact guides for various destinations around Taipei. Find here the Wulai one<\/a> that was really helpful to organize the trip and the day.<\/p>\n

Wulai, apart from hot springs, is also know for being the home to the Atayai tribe, and the tribe’s traditional handicrafts and cuisines make coming to Wulai doubly worthwhile. That means it is a touristic place with ugly buses and commercial streets.<\/p>\n

Before getting into the water we decided to try a Taiwanese classic snack, a hot dog in a stick. We didn’t know, but it is a sweet sausage!<\/p>\n

In order to digest the hot dog we just wandered around the town a little bit (we will need to come back properly equipped to go hiking) .<\/p>\n

Most of the tourists will use the \u00abhot springs\u00bb hotels (there is a bath in each room), but we decided to follow two elderly locals and ended up in a area of free hot springs next to Nanshi river.<\/p>\n

The water (around 80\u00baC) in Wulai is colorless and odorless (in other hot springs it can be stinky), and is known to have rejuvenating effects on the skin.<\/p>\n

\"CIMG2608\"A nice lady who spoke English explained us the steps to follow. First go into the river (quite cold) and then enter the hot spring at 80\u00baC and enjoy<\/center><\/p>\n

\"CIMG2599\"This pool was not at 80\u00baC, otherwise Anna would not be smiling like that.<\/center><\/p>\n

… and back home!<\/p>\n
