La nostra sorpresa va ser quan a les 4 de la matinada, hora local, quan comen\u00e7ava el partit, el bar estava ple! Hi havia m\u00e9s taiwanesos que estrangers i encara m\u00e9s sorprenent, la majoria eren del Madrid!<\/p>\n
B\u00e9, la resta … ja sabeu com va acabar :)<\/p>\n
Amb tot aix\u00f2, per casualitat vam con\u00e8ixer un parell de catalans m\u00e9s que estaven de \u00abvisita\u00bb per all\u00e0. No se sent gaire parlar catal\u00e0 per aqu\u00ed, aix\u00ed que a la m\u00ednima ens crida l’atenci\u00f3. B\u00e9, i la camiseta de la Fura del Baus tamb\u00e9 els va delatar ;)<\/p>\n
I aix\u00ed vam con\u00e8ixer l’Emili i en Pep, tripulants del Rainbow Warrior del Greenpeace<\/a>. Havien de participar en una campanya en contra de la ca\u00e7a de balenes al Jap\u00f3, per\u00f2 la campanya es va cancel\u00b7lar quan va haver-hi el terratr\u00e8mol. De manera que van allargar la seva estada a Taiwan i ja feia quasi un mes que el vaixell estava amarrat al port de Keelung, al nord de Taipei, esperant la propera sortida. Ells NO s\u00f3n activistes, sin\u00f3 que formen part dels 15 membres de la tripulac\u00f3, \u00e9s a dir que s’encarreguen de moure el vaixell i tot el manteniment.<\/p>\n I entre gol i gol ens van anar explicant la seva feina, les seves aventures i com van arribar fins aqu\u00ed. Val a que dir que va ser m\u00e9s interessant poder parlar amb ells que veure el partit.<\/p>\n Aprofitant que encara es quedaven uns dies, en Joaquim i jo els vam anar a veure a Keelung. All\u00e0 ens van fer una visita personalitzada i vam poder descobrir les interioritats del vaixell, la seva hist\u00f2ria i con\u00e8ixer la resta de la tripulaci\u00f3.<\/p>\n [salbumphotos=93,64,max,n,n,picasa_order]<\/p>\n El 21 d’abril, van marxar cap a Fukushima a prendre mostres de l’aigua del mar i comprovar els nivells de radiaci\u00f3. I si torneu a passar per Taiwan ja sabeu on trobar-nos! :)<\/p>\n A couple of weeks ago, we went to watch the La Liga match Madrid-Bar\u00e7a.<\/p>\n In Taiwan football is not very popular in general, they prefer baseball, but in Taipei there are some pubs that broadcast all kind of sports at any time (they will even broadcast the English royal wedding!). One of them is the Brass Monkey<\/a>, where many expats go frequently. We are not great fans of football but it was a good excuse to meet some other Catalan friends and some from Madrid, to watch all together the match and cheer our teams up.<\/p>\n It was a great surprise when at the beginning of the match (4am local time) the pub was really packed! There were more Taiwanese than foreigners and even more amazing, most of them were supporters of Real Madrid!<\/p>\n By chance, we met two other Catalans who came to \u201cvisit\u201d Taiwan. It is not very often that we can hear people speaking in Catalan, so it was easy to recognize them.<\/p>\n And this is how we met Emili and Pep, members of the crew of the Rainbow Warrior from Greenpeace.<\/a> They were suposed to start a campaing against the fishing of whales in Japan when the earthquake hit Japan and the campaing was cancelled.\u00a0 The boat reached Keelung harbour (north of Taiwan) almost a month ago, and they were still waiting to leave to their next destination. They are NOT activists but members of the crew who take care of the boat and all its maintenance.<\/p>\n During the match they explained us their job, their adventures and how did they get here. I have to say that it was more interesting to talk with them than the match.<\/p>\n Their next destination was Japan but due to current circumstances they had to stay longer in Taiwan. So Joaquim and I couldn\u2019t miss this opportunity and went to Keelung to see the boat and visit them. There we had a guided tour around the boat and we could discover the inner world of the Rainbow Warrior as well as the rest of the crew.<\/p>\n [salbumphotos=93,64,max,n,n,picasa_order]<\/p>\n On April 21st they head for Fukushima to conduct contaminations tests of the water in that area. \u00a0You can check more information here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Good luck for our sailor friends!
