Hem aprofitat per afegir-hi una escapada a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mataro.cat\/\" target=\"_blank\">Matar\u00f3<\/a> i <a href=\"http:\/\/wikitravel.org\/en\/Barcelona\" target=\"_blank\">Barcelona<\/a> durant el cap de setmana.<\/p>\n<p>Si els viatges per feina per \u00c0sia ja s\u00f3n una mica complicats, us podeu imaginar el que representa fer-ne un a l&#8217;altra punta del m\u00f3n. Resum en xifres per donar una idea de la magnitud:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sortida de Taipei: Dissabte 01\/05\/2010<\/li>\n<li>Arribada a Taipei: Dimarts 11\/05\/2010 (10 dies de viatge)<\/li>\n<li>Hores a Matar\u00f3: 18 hores<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Aeroports trepitjats:\u00a0 10 &#8211;&gt; Taipei, Hong-Kong, M\u00fcnchen, Geneve, Berlin, Poznan, Frankfurt, Barcelona, Milano (sense sortir de l&#8217;avi\u00f3), Singapore<\/li>\n<li>Total vols: 9<\/li>\n<li>Retards importants: 0<\/li>\n<li>Vols cancel\u00b7lats: 1 (de Barcelona a Munic el diumenge a la tarda). Ens van reenviar l&#8217;endem\u00e0 via Singapore.<\/li>\n<li>Total dist\u00e0ncia:\u00a0 +\/- 27.000 Km (\u00e9s com fer una mica menys de 3\/4 de la volta a la terra per a l&#8217;al\u00e7ada de l&#8217;Equador, que s\u00f3n uns 40.o00 Km)<\/li>\n<li>Maletes: 0 (nom\u00e9s equipatge de m\u00e0. Massa canvis d&#8217;avions per arriscar-nos a perdre una maleta)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Llits diferents: 8 (3 hotels, 2 cases a Barcelona, 1 casa a Matar\u00f3,\u00a0 2 avions nocturns)<\/li>\n<li>Llibres acabats: 2 (un que ja tenia comen\u00e7at [<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/Enough-Breaking-free-world-more\/dp\/0340935901\" target=\"_blank\">Enough<\/a>] i un altre de curt [<a href=\"http:\/\/www.alaindebotton.com\/a_week_at_the_airport.asp\" target=\"_blank\">A week at the airport<\/a>]).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>No us explicar\u00e9 totes les reunions de feina :). Evidentment la part m\u00e9s divertida del viatge va ser l&#8217;estada a Catalunya.<\/p>\n<p>El divendres i part del dissabte vaig deixar a l&#8217;Stan amb amics a Barcelona i jo em vaig escapar a Matar\u00f3 a fer una visita a la fam\u00edlia. Els vaig portar t\u00e8 verd i vermell de Taiwan, monedes dels viatges per \u00c0sia i una <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mosquito_bat\" target=\"_blank\">raqueta el\u00e8ctrica per matar mosquits<\/a> (ja farem un post sobre aquest enginy). Com era d&#8217;esperar va tocar dinar paella de la mama :)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/nomadscatalans.net\/fetataiwan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/paella.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1210\" title=\"paella\" src=\"http:\/\/nomadscatalans.net\/fetataiwan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/paella.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"573\" height=\"273\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nomadscatalans.net\/fetataiwan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/paella.jpg 573w, https:\/\/nomadscatalans.net\/fetataiwan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/paella-300x142.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 573px) 100vw, 573px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Una de les coses que hem apr\u00e8s a Taipei \u00e9s que <strong>als asi\u00e0tics els horroritza<\/strong> el fet que els occidentals ens <strong>mengem els conills<\/strong> i els considerem animals de granja. Per a ells els conills s\u00f3n animals de companyia (com pels occidentals s\u00f3n els gossos i els gats). Ups&#8230; perd\u00f3 :)<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;Stan, que no havia estat mai a Barcelona, duia una c\u00e0mera per\u00f2 es va perdre en un dels avions i no vam poder fer fotos de Barcelona :(. En vam fer algunes amb el m\u00f2bil al Park G\u00fcell i a la Barceloneta. Ens van acompanyar uns dies molt agradables.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1214\" title=\"bcn\" src=\"http:\/\/nomadscatalans.net\/fetataiwan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/bcn1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"605\" height=\"469\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nomadscatalans.net\/fetataiwan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/bcn1.jpg 699w, https:\/\/nomadscatalans.net\/fetataiwan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/bcn1-300x232.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 605px) 100vw, 605px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Moltes gr\u00e0cies al Francesc\/Antonio i al Carles\/Mar per acollir-nos a les respectives cases a Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p>Moltes gr\u00e0cies tamb\u00e9 a tots els que heu tingut una mica de temps per fer una trobada i posar-nos al dia. Viure fora durant una temporada modifica la perspectiva de moltes coses (m\u00e9s del que esperava, la veritat) i ha estat important poder compartir-ho amb els amics.<\/p>\n<p>Internet \u00e9s una eina incre\u00efble i permet salvar les dist\u00e0ncies. Una de les curiositats del viatge ha estat experimentar que tot i haver passat ja 5 mesos fora, molts amics i la fam\u00edlia sabien for\u00e7a b\u00e9 tot el que havia anat fent (fins i tot m\u00e9s que quan vivia a Barcelona&#8230;). Aquest <a href=\"http:\/\/nomadscatalans.net\/fetataiwan\" target=\"_blank\">mateix blog<\/a>, les videoconfer\u00e8ncies, les trucades per<a href=\"http:\/\/www.skype.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Skype<\/a>, el <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=526927665\" target=\"_blank\">Facebook<\/a> i els xats han perm\u00e8s mantenir un bon nivell de comunicaci\u00f3 i interacci\u00f3.<\/p>\n<p>Altres \u00absorpreses\u00bb al tornar a Catalunya ha estat veure que ens passem el dia menjant pa (tal i com els asi\u00e0tics fan amb l&#8217;arr\u00f2s), patates braves i bebent cervesa (Estrella i Voll-Damm especialment). El menjar, en general, \u00e9s m\u00e9s salat que a Taiwan.\u00a0 El metro\/tren a Barcelona es veu brut, mal indicat i ca\u00f2tic comparat amb el servei a Taipei i altres parts d&#8217;\u00c0sia. El retrobament amb els mitjans de comunicaci\u00f3 habituals ha fet que mir\u00e9s una mica de TV (a Taipei quasi no la mirem, nom\u00e9s TV3 i la Sexta per internet)\u00a0 i compr\u00e9s molta premsa (llegim les webs dels diaris, per\u00f2 no \u00e9s el mateix).\u00a0 Amb la dist\u00e0ncia les not\u00edcies m\u00e9s \u00ablocals\u00bb (l&#8217;Estatut i el TC, la corrupci\u00f3, els esports, etc.) es veuen una mica rares i tot sovint sense massa sentit.<\/p>\n<p>Despr\u00e9s de veure el caos aeri del dissabte, vam trucar a l&#8217;aeroport diumenge al mat\u00ed per preguntar com anava la cosa (\u00abtot OK, tot OK per ara\u00bb, deien). Despr\u00e9s d&#8217;un bon dinar a la Barceloneta,\u00a0 el diumenge a la tarda vam anar cap a l&#8217;aeroport per agafar el vol de tornada. Havien tancat l&#8217;aeroport de Munic (per culpa de la cendra volc\u00e0nica) i ens van cancel.lar el vol. El mapa \u00e9s del diumenge a les 18:00, quan hav\u00edem d&#8217;agafar l&#8217;avi\u00f3&#8230; amb una taca just a sobre de Munic :-P<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1217  aligncenter\" title=\"mapa\" src=\"http:\/\/nomadscatalans.net\/fetataiwan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mapa.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"499\" height=\"401\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nomadscatalans.net\/fetataiwan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mapa.png 499w, https:\/\/nomadscatalans.net\/fetataiwan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mapa-300x241.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 499px) 100vw, 499px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Al cap de 4 hores de cua ens van poder atendre i reenviar-nos a Taipei via Singapore el dilluns al mat\u00ed (la mateixa ruta que jo havia fet el primer cop i tamb\u00e9 la mateixa que va fer l&#8217;Anna per venir cap aqu\u00ed).<\/p>\n<p>El dimarts a la tarda, despr\u00e9s de 24 hores de viatge (Barcelona-Milano-Singapore-Taipei) la maleta va treure tot aix\u00f2:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nomadscatalans.net\/fetataiwan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/DSC_0235.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1211\" title=\"DSC_0235\" src=\"http:\/\/nomadscatalans.net\/fetataiwan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/DSC_0235.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"643\" height=\"427\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nomadscatalans.net\/fetataiwan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/DSC_0235.jpg 643w, https:\/\/nomadscatalans.net\/fetataiwan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/DSC_0235-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 643px) 100vw, 643px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>De record vaig importar embotit (llonganissa, pernil i formatge. De fet est\u00e0 prohibit passar-ho per la frontera), galetes Principe, premsa variada (amb dominical i pel.l\u00edcula), monedes de quatre tipus (euro, franc su\u00eds, zloty polon\u00e8s i dolar taiwan\u00e8s), tres \u00abdo not disturb\u00bb dels hotels (ja que en faig col.lecci\u00f3) i un taxi de Barcelona d&#8217;espuma.<\/p>\n<p>Si tot va com est\u00e0 previst, de cara a principis de setembre tornar\u00e0 a tocar una cosa similar&#8230; a veure si aquest cop pot ser amb l&#8217;Anna i podem fer una estada una mica m\u00e9s llarga.<\/p>\n<p>Aix\u00ed doncs, fins aviat!<!--:--><!--:en--><\/p>\n<p><p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=830839840\" target=\"_blank\">Stan<\/a> (a workmate) and myself had to visit various locations of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adbglobal.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">company<\/a> around  Europe (Switzerland and Poland). We took advantage of that to arrange a weekend stay at <a href=\"http:\/\/wikitravel.org\/en\/Barcelona\" target=\"_blank\">Barcelona<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mataro.cat\/\" target=\"_blank\">Matar\u00f3<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>You can imagine that a \u00abquick\u00bb business trip to the other side of the world combined with a leisure weekend at Barcelona is not a simple journey. Let me depict some figures to give you an idea of the magnitude:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We left Taipei on Saturday 01\/05\/2010<\/li>\n<li>We were back at Taipei 10 days later, 11\/05\/2010<\/li>\n<li>Total time at Matar\u00f3 with my family: 18 hores<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Airports that we visited:\u00a0 10 &#8211;&gt; Taipei, Hong-Kong, M\u00fcnchen, Geneve,  Berlin, Poznan, Frankfurt, Barcelona, Milano (we did not even leave the plane),  Singapore<\/li>\n<li>Total flights: 9<\/li>\n<li>Delayed flights: 0<\/li>\n<li>Canceled flights: 1 (from Barcelona to Munich). See details below.<\/li>\n<li>Total distance:\u00a0 +\/- 27.000 Km (a little bit less than 3\/4 of around the world trip at the Ecuador, this is about 40.o00 Km)<\/li>\n<li>Luggage: 0 (only hand luggage. Too risky too lose in any of the flights)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Beds: 8 (3 hotels, 2 at Barcelona, 1 at Matar\u00f3,\u00a0  2 planes)<\/li>\n<li>Books finished: 2 (one that was already well advanced [<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/Enough-Breaking-free-world-more\/dp\/0340935901\" target=\"_blank\">Enough<\/a>] and a short one [<a href=\"http:\/\/www.alaindebotton.com\/a_week_at_the_airport.asp\" target=\"_blank\">A week at the airport<\/a>]).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I won&#8217;t bore you with all the business meetings :). Obviously the most funny bit of the trip was the weekend at Catalunya.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday and Saturday (partially) I left Stan with some friends at Barcelona and I went to Matar\u00f3 to visit my family. I was carrying green&amp;red tea, coins from the various trips around Asia and \u00a0one\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mosquito_bat\" target=\"_blank\">mosquito racket<\/a> (I will need to write a post on this tool to kill mosquitoes). As expected, my mum cooked paella!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/nomadscatalans.net\/fetataiwan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/paella.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"paella\" src=\"http:\/\/nomadscatalans.net\/fetataiwan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/paella.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"573\" height=\"273\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>One of the things we have learned here is that <strong>Asian people are really surprised to know what we eat rabbits! <\/strong>For them rabbits are just pets (like Westerners would consider about cats and dogs). \u00a0Ups&#8230; sorry :)<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Stan, that had never been to Barcelona before, \u00a0carried a camera but it got lost on some of the planes so we could not take pictures :(. \u00a0We just made few of them with the mobile phone at Park G\u00fcell and at la Barceloneta. \u00a0We were really lucky with the weather<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"bcn\" src=\"http:\/\/nomadscatalans.net\/fetataiwan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/bcn1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"605\" height=\"469\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Thank you very much to Francesc\/Antonio and Carles\/Mar to host us at their houses at Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you very much also to those who had some time for a quick beer and get mutually up to date. Living abroad for a while (specially in a very different country) modifies your point of view (more than I expected to be honest) and it was important for me to share these thoughts with friends.<\/p>\n<p>Internet is just an incredible tool that really allows to minimize the distances. One of the funny discoveries on this trip is that, even I have already been 5 months away, friends and family knew quite well about my life in Taipei. This\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/nomadscatalans.net\/fetataiwan\" target=\"_blank\">blog<\/a>, videoconferences,<a href=\"http:\/\/www.skype.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Skype<\/a> calls, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=526927665\" target=\"_blank\">Facebook<\/a> and chats allow to keep a regular, fluent and quite deep communication.<\/p>\n<p>Another surprise was to realize that we eat a lot of bread (in the same way Asian do with rice), \u00a0patatas bravas and drink beer (Estrella and Voll-Damm specially). Food, in general, is more salty than in Taiwan. The metro\/train felt dirty, confusing and chaotic compared to the service that you get at Taipei or other parts of Asia. Having access to media in my own language was also a new experience. At Taipei we hardly ever watch TV (just TV Catalunya and LaSexta over internet). I also bought a number of newspaper (we read them over internet, but it is not the same). \u00abLocal\u00bb news (Estatut, corruption, sports events, etc.) are kind of weird when you look at them from a distance.<\/p>\n<p>After the chaos with the flights on Saturday, we called Barcelona airport on Sunday morning to ask about the situation. They said it was OK &#8230; so far. After an excellent lunch at Barceloneta we went to Barcelona airport in the evening just to realize that our flight to Munich was cancelled because of the volcanic ashes. You can see the map below, from Saturday at the time that we had to take the plane &#8230; with a spot right on top of Munich ;P<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"mapa\" src=\"http:\/\/nomadscatalans.net\/fetataiwan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mapa.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"499\" height=\"401\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After almost 4 queuing \u00a0Lufthansa managed to get us an alternative for Monday morning via Singapore. In fact this is exactly the same route that I and also Anna did to reach Taipei on December.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday late afternoon, after almost 24 hours on planes (Barcelona-Milano-Singapore-Taipei) my hand luggage contained the following material:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/nomadscatalans.net\/fetataiwan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/DSC_0235.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"DSC_0235\" src=\"http:\/\/nomadscatalans.net\/fetataiwan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/DSC_0235.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"643\" height=\"427\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As souvenir I took some food (fuet, spanish ham and cheese.
