In general oriental people prefer to do things in groups rather than alone.
Life: west vs. east
So, while using the MRT system in Taipei it is usual to see groups of kids and teenagers dancing together in the huge corridors and underground malls.
Although they mostly dance just for fun and as a social activity, there is a yearly “Taipei Metro Dancing Competition” with 440,000 TWD in prizes! (around 10,000 Euros).
Taipei Metro welcomes teams of 3 to 8 people to register and compete in this event and it is organized in two categories: youth (from 12 to high school students) and adults (college students and above).
I went to see the semifinals that were held outside this weekend at Jiannan MRT station and it was good fun!
Aquí a l’Índia els nens ja ballen com a les pel·lícules de Bollybood!! ;)
