First film: Yang Yang

festivalDuring my first weekend in Taipei, on Sunday evening I went to the area of Ximending. This is a shopping area specially focused on the Japanese culture, the youth and various cultural activities. The area is often called the “Harajuku of Taipei”, in reference to the Tokyo area where the most freak shops area located.

Outside Red House Theater there was an outdoors film about to be played. In the context of the 53rd Asia Pacific Film Festival the film Yang Yang was offered. Mandarin with English subtitles, so I decided to stay.

You can read a good summary of the film on this blog

sandrineOn Saturday 19th of December the awards ceremony of the festival (attracting 58 films from 14 different countries) took place. Yang Yang main actress, the French-Taiwanese Sandrine Pinna, won the best actress award.
Looks like this young girl is a raising star of the Taiwanese film scene.

No t’has perdut res :P

  • Huevet, mirat six feet under i canviaras d`opinio respecte a les tv series.
